I agree with you that it moves around stylistically quite a bit and yet seems to work as a whole. Amelia Swfrvedriver was the singer — she went on to form Talulah Gosh who were this jangly but punky kind of thing which actually inspired Riot Grrrl quite a bit.

The resulting album was half-instrumental and had a kind of 'soundtrack' vibe although Charlie Francis who recorded it with me immediately heard a late 70s Eno vibe which I hadn't picked up on.
