I know there has to be an audio driver out there somewhere that will work. You currently have javascript disabled. While most users will probably be turned off by the DPERL severe lack of tweaking and overclocking options, this motherboard is not meant for those types of users in the first place. The DPERL is meant for enthusiasts that do xudio plan on overclocking but still want the latest and greatest features at a good price point there is most certainly a niche market for these types of people.

Sorry to ask what may seem obvious but sometimes not everyone thinks of, or is aware of, these things. I've tried several audio drivers but non of them seem to work.

The speakers both sets I have tried - powered and not powered work fine in my wife's old W2K Dell that is on the same desk as the newer computer I am trying to configure for her. Rather than starting over with the OS install, paying more attention to the order of the updates, it might be easier to slap in an inexpensive audio card and use its drivers after disabling SoundMAX.

Additionally, there is no sound on start-up or shut-down, regardless of how the speakers are configured front or back audio panel. This is a solid combination of features and very competitive at its price point in comparison to top tier Taiwanese motherboard makers such as ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI among others.

I let it completely install the driver this time and nothing went wrong, I was just wondering if there was another driver out there but this is the one.
